Samsung Alias 2 messaging phone, which launches today on Verizon Wireless is surprisingly use E-ink technology. This is rather a surprise, because usually E-ink only used on eBook reader, and Samsung managed to use it on Samsung Alias 2.
Samsung Alias 2 provide the same dual-hinge keyboard as the the original one, but now it’s keyboard uses E-ink technology so it can change the keyboard mapping based on what the user is doing. If you open the phone vertically, the keyboard will shows as alphanumeric. But if you hold the phone horizontally, the keys will have a typical QWERTY layout with shortcut buttons on them. This feature is unique and can helps avoid awkward key lettering. The Alias 2 also support for VCast Videos and VCast Music for over the video downloads and air music. The music is managed via the playback controls on the front lid.
Samsung Alias 2 also provide RemoSync support for $9.99 per month which will assist you on synchronize your contacts, work e-mail, and calendar with the phone. It has a support for VZ Navigator, Visual voice mail and 2MP camera. There’s a unique user interface that resembles a classroom for accessing specific menu items.The Alias 2 is available in charcoal gray. The Samsung Alias 2 will set you back $79.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate on Verizon Wireless.
