Casio G’zOne Commando C771 Hit Verizon On April 28th

Casio G’zOne Commando C771 is now hit with Verizon on April 28th, the launch date same with Samsung Droid Charge coming out. Few years ago, Casio has been making rugged phones for Verizon, but the Commando will be the first rugged smartphone.

This G’zOne run Android 2.2 Froyo and features an 800 MHz processor, 3.6″ 480×800 resolution touchscreen display, EVDO Rev A with 3G Mobile Hotspot software, Bluetooth 2.1, 5 Mega Pixels camera with dedicate shutter key, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, 3.5mm headset jack, and will come with a pre-installed 8GB microSDHC memory card.

The Casio G’zOne Commando meets MIL Spec 810G, for being resistant to shock, dust and water, and will come with a variety of G’zGear apps, that include Earth Compass, Walking Counter, Adventure Training, Thermometer, and Tide Calculator. The missing thing on this device is the PTT capability. This handset price is expected to run between $149-$199.

Casio G’zOne Ravine has been announced. This clamshell phone is belongs to adventurer who loves surfing, skiing, hiking, climbing, fishing, hunting or other outdoor activity because this phone dust-, water- and shock-resistant, and can withstand the most brutal environments.

The Ravine also immune to vibration, humidity, altitude, salt fog, solar radiation, and high and low temperatures. It conforms to MIL-STD-810G and comes with three sensors – for direction, acceleration and temperature.

This device has features 3.2 megapixel camera with video capture capabilities and LED flash, Clear Talk noise cancellation, Text-to-Speech and voice dictation, GPS, compass, Bluetooth, Push-to-talk and a microSD card slot. The Ravine will be available with Verizon for $149.99 after $50 mail-in rebate and 2 years service agreement.

After SoftBank and Docomo announced their line-ups for summer 2009 last week, No. 2 Japanese telecommunications giants KDDI au reveal theirs. As covered on the previous post, Docomo presented 17 models and Softbank roll out 15 new cell phones. Even though KDDI au showed only 8 new models, some of them are amazing.
