The Motorola DROID is conceived one of the top two Android handsets and about call it the best cellphone useable on the Verizon network. From the astonishingly sharp and clear 480 x 854 resolution on the 3.7 inch display, to the Android 2.01 OS (soon to be upgraded to 2.1), the highly fast web browser, the slide out QWERTY keyboard and the power to multitask, the Motorola handset has in reality been able to stay in a higher place the hype put on the device by Verizon and has collected outstanding reviews. This all sounds great, but for many, the current $200 price tag could be too much to compensate. No headaches. Amazon is now proposing the Motorola DROID for a cost of $109.99 with a 2 year contract. At this price, the DROID undercuts the $179.99 price of its chief contest, the Nexus One, with a 2 year contract directly from Google. In March, as we have described, the N-One will become useable for use on Verizon’s network which might require Big Red to bring down its cost of the DROID. But for right at present, if you enjoy the DROID but not the price at Verizon, you are able to find out the phone you wish and still have some money left over for accessories.
